In a letter to customers on February 11th Lotte confirmed an electricity loss the Westlake’s Lake Charles plant led to a loss of steam and necessitated the shutdown of the Lotte MEG plant. As a result Lotte declared force majeure and is allocating MEG at 100%, DEG 75% and TEG at 100% through the end of the month. The plant is expected to restart soon and allocation amounts for March have not yet been determined.
